Above: Welcoming Tata Madiba to London after his release in 1990. This reception took place in the Tambo home, Muswell Hill, London. From left to right: Horst Kleinschmidt, Oliver and Adelaide Tambo, Nelson Mandela and Christine Crowley

Below: On 26 November 1975 I was released from Pretoria Maximum Security Prison after being held for 73 days in solitary confinement under the Terrorism Act. The picture is of me at the moment of my release, reaching out to my former wife, Ilona and my legal representative, Shun Chetty. Chetty was not allowed to see me throughout my detention. I was never charged. (I had also had not had a hair cut, nor a change of clothes!).
