The mission farm Ghaub, where Gerhard and Klara Kleinschmidt worked on the adjacent Ganachaams mission farm. Photo ca 1913. Ghaub and Ganachaams are a game lodge today, located in the triangle between Grootfontein, Tsumeb and Outjo.

​This grave is at Ghaub's old mission graveyard. It is of the first child that Gerhard and Klara Kleinschmidt had. The boy was born in 1911 but died in 1913. He was named Gerhard also

 Below are images of Opa (grandfather) Gerhard Kleinschmidt, born 10.1.1883, died in Karibib Namibia, 15.4.1949, his sister Mathilde (Tilly) and their generation.

Mathilde, Heinrich, Gerhard and Helena Kleinschmidt, prior to WWI. Heinrich served in the German Schutztruppe, Mathilde was, in 1911, told by the Karibib Magistrate that she could not marry Mr. Ewaldt from Germany because she 'was not white enough'. Gerhard was my grandfather.

Otjimbingue wedding of Klara and Gerhard Kleinschmidt. There seems to have been a wedding in Germany prior to this. To the left and right of them are the brothers, both missionaries, August and Friedrich Bernsmann. Behind Gerhard K stands Mathilde, his sister.
